Frequently Asked Questions
Where is my data stored?
Your transaction records, categories, accounts, recurring rules, and settings are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. Your financial information is not sent to any server.
How do I back up my data?
Your Áine data is included in your regular iPhone backup. When you back up your device via iCloud or Finder (Mac), your expense records are preserved and will be restored if you set up a new device from that backup.
How do I delete all my data?
Deleting the Áine app from your device removes all stored data permanently. Since no data is stored externally, uninstalling the app is sufficient to erase everything.
Can I change the language or default currency?
Yes. Open Settings from the Overview tab to choose the app language and default currency. You can still change the currency for each individual transaction.
How do recurring transactions work?
Recurring rules can create daily, weekly, biweekly, monthly, or yearly entries. Future entries are marked as pending until you confirm them.
How do I find old records?
Use search in Records to find entries by name, category, group, or account. You can also filter by category, type, and account.
Can I export my data?
Data export is not available in the current version. CSV export is being considered for a future update.
